Resolving, Reopening, and Summarizing Discussion Threads

Give discussions clear endings while retaining context for later review.

Guides 1 min read

Resolve a thread

Resolve a question when it is answered, converted into a task, or no longer affects the current decision. Choose a short conclusion.

Who can resolve

The thread author, page owner, and decision maker can resolve it. Other members can suggest resolution.

Draft summaries

Threads with more than ten replies can generate a draft summary. A member must confirm it before it enters the page.

Reopen

Anyone with comment access can request reopening when evidence changes or a conclusion becomes invalid. Add a reason for the owner to confirm.

Relation to the decision

A decision can proceed with unresolved threads. Move them to Follow Up Questions and explain why they do not block the present choice.
