Workspace Roles and Permissions Reference

Understand the capabilities of administrators, members, guests, and page reviewers.

Guides 1 min read

Administrator

Administrators manage members, workspace settings, security policies, exports, and access to all projects. Keep at least two, while using a lower role for ordinary membership.

Member

Members create projects and pages and access projects they join or can discover. Administrator policy determines whether they may invite guests.

Guest

Guests access specified projects and may create or edit content. They cannot browse the workspace directory, manage members, or export the whole workspace.

Page reviewer

An invitation grants access to one page for viewing or commenting. Reviewers cannot search other content.

Custom roles

The Team plan can restrict project creation, template management, or external sharing within a member based role. Custom roles cannot gain billing permissions.

Inheritance

Pages inherit project permissions by default. Individual pages can be restricted further. Internal references do not automatically grant access to people outside a project.
